Brandon Bays grew up in Missouri. Where he has been competing in rodeos since he was 6yo with his grandfather who taught him how to rope and ride. Brandon also broke and trained horses from a young age, and was part of the 4H club and the FFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandon currently lives in Utah and is part of the LBGTQ+ community where he helps raise money for UGRA, the Matrons of Mayhem and the Bears. Giving back to the community is a strong passion of Brandon’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandon was very excited when he was approached to run for Mr. NMGRA and of course he couldn\u2019t say no when it comes to helping the LBGTQ+ community out while doing something that he truly loves and enjoys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for fundraisers and posts that the Royalty team will be putting out to help raise money for NMGRA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just remember that you cannot spell COMMUNITY without UNITY. We all need to unify and work together to make a better tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss NMGRA 2024 – Seliah DeLeon (Miss IGRA 2025 1st RU)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seliah DeLeon has been a beloved entertainer in the Land of Enchantment for over a decade, holding
numerous prestigious titles including Miss NM Pride, SouthWest All American Goddess, Enchanted
National Showgirl, New Mexico All American Goddess, and Emperor and Empress of the Imperial
Sovereign Court of New Mexico, among others. Notably, Seliah currently holds the title of Miss New
Mexico Gay Rodeo 2024. Beyond entertainment, Seliah is a passionate advocate for HIV and STI
awareness within the community, emphasizing the importance of knowing one’s status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss NMGRA 1st Runner-Up 2024 – Jazm\u00edn La Vaquera Dior<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jazm\u00edn La Vaquera Dior was born and raised in Abiquiu, a small ranching town in Northern New Mexico, often referred to as O\u2019Keefe Country\u2014the Land of Enchantment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She learned to ride and handle horses from her dad and gained valuable ranching skills from both her parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jazmin was actively involved in 4-H and FFA, participating in rodeos and showing lambs and steers. One of her proudest moments was winning trophy buckles for showing lambs. She also serves on the board of directors for the Rio Arriba County Fair Association and is the co-chair for the county and rodeo royalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, Jazmin joined NMGRA. The following year, she ran for Mr. NMGRA 2018 and secured the position of first runner-up. This experience connected her with the LGBTQ+ community, where she enjoys contributing and being part of the royalty team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is David J. Smith from Bishop California, in the Heart of the Eastern High Sierras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love the Desert as I currently reside in Sky Valley, California on a small Ranch with my two dogs “Greta and Garbo.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2013, I am currently an announcer on the IGRA Rodeo Circuit and have been a member since 1993. I am your current Mr. NMGRA 2023. I look forward serving both organizations over the next couple of years. “I love rodeo and the folks I’ve met along the way.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aurora Gayheart of Chino, California began her gay rodeo journey in the early 2000’s as part of the The Phoenix Phollies at the then Road Runner Regional Rodeo in Scottsdale, AZ. She was Arizona Central Pride’s Miss Gay Pride 2001 and was Miss Gay Phoenix America 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Zia Regional Rodeo 2022 after an almost 20 year hiatus Aurora performed for an adoring crowd and set her sights on becoming Miss NMGRA 2023. She drew much inspiration from her late auntie Miss Ebony who was Miss Reno National Gay Rodeo 1983 and Miss NMGRA 1992-1993 Patti Melt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aurora and her husband Thom and their pop up western wear store Not My First Rodeo enjoy sponsoring award buckles and up and coming competitors. They love traveling the world and going on cruises but are most at peace on the beach in Puerto Pe\u00f1asco, Sonora, Mexico where they spend their winters and up in the pines in Angel Fire, NM where they spent their first summer in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
